I joined a team and was handed a pre-existing task list. There were established weekly meeting with various contributors to track progress on that very task list.
Over the course of a few weeks I diligently reviewed all of the tasks and identified plans of actions for working them. I scheduled a meeting with those I was told needed to be apprised of progress. I didn’t even hardly get started presenting the first recommendation on the list when I was chewed out for ‘not listening’ and in this same tirade of nonsense the same fellow exclaimed ‘Who are you to make demands; I don’t even know who you are!?!?’
This from someone that was leading discussions during the past month of weekly meetings (that I not only was announced when I had first joined, and had been attending and reporting to) that went over the task list itself.
And who’s not listening? Golly, what a clown!
